Whether the televising of sevens rugby should stay with Fiji TV was debated in Parliament yesterday.
Initially Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum tried to dismiss the debate by showing off his 'legal skills' saying the Opposition did not follow proper procedures.

BAUXITE MINING AND LAND DAMAGE
Well, its good to know that there are rehabilitation works that will fix up those big gaping volcanic holes that someone queried about earlier on. Probably more excavation works, bulldoze and refill!
Lands Minister Mere Vuniwaqa has confirmed that Chinese bauxite miner, Aurum Exploration Fiji Limited, is under an obligation to carry out rehabilitation works in accordance with an Environmental Impact Assessment report. Landowners at the Nawailevu Bauxite Mining site in Vanua Levu can take comfort that we have a Lands Minister who does not mince words and who has shown she listens to the concerns of people affected by Government decisions....ahem

It's what's said in every other country when the Chinese have dug out and shipped out all the raw material they want.
What the Chinese company that has undertaken the work then does at the last minute is go bust, dissolves and that's it.
The only way to overcome this is to make them undertake remedial work alongside the removal operations and MONITOR it.

Man we talk about employing Ulukaus in high government positions and they dont know what they are doing - not only this government, all along the years. These Ministers just sign ga the deal and let the foreigners chip rip and damage our natural resources. Scrutiny should not only cover the land but the foreshore, the seas - check out what's happening underneath with those interested foreigners who come here looking for 'gold and opportunities'!

Bainimarama and Khaiyum should be blamed for all the losses of the 7s teams since 2006 because they are playing politics with the only events that bring the nation together. Our national 7s Rugby teams will never win any IRB yearly total points unless Bainimarama and Khaiyum are removed from Government and a proper Democracy is in place. We cannot promote our brand of a banana democracy on the internationally acclaimed 7s rugby field.
