Vinaka bro that is a great stats. Yes it's negative but it's still information we never had before but do now. Now in your opinion what can you propose as a good answer if hypothetically those questions about that particular area were raised in the negotiation table?
Now free movements I had in mind was for all citizens to move freely i.e visiting, working and living. This also gets the Aussie government benefits.That's level one. With the new info you've just given we can formulate a level two. I'm thinking free visiting, working and living but no access to benefits until after 2 years of work. Level 3 can have free travel for anyone with a degree earned here in Fiji or any other similar level from Chosen countries like Australia and New Zealand. Also on these level are agricultural workers with a job lined up where the employer will have to pass certain criteria set by Australia.
You get my drift. We can formulate few levels and when negotiating we start from level one and work our way down. I'm hoping with a good presentation we aim for level one and hopefully come out with level 2 or 3 at least.
We probably will come back with nothing but there's a chance one of those lower levels will be considered. And if we get a consideration on one of the levels then that at the very least gives us a chance to come back work on what we need do and then when we go back to the negotiating table we'll have better presentation.

We have seasonal worker agreement offered to us by Australia. That could very well extend to include more or even full season. The door is opened already and not through our requests but by them. Why not let's request them to open it a bit more.

One of the problems with discussing poverty is clarifying what it means and how it can be defined. Poverty is divided into two types absolute and relative poverty.
Absolute poverty is lacking the basic necessity for survival for example shelter, food and water.
Relative poverty is when some people's way of life and income is less than the standard. For example they don't shop from the same place as other on their street or they have to use public transport instead of their own car.
With Australia's nuclear family tradition and Fiji's extended family one plus rural villages with access to their own land hence being self sufficient we really can't judge the poverty level of both countries with one criteria don't you think?

Aiyaz Khaiyum has been named as the key bomb-maker for an Alqaeda-like resistance group that tried to blow up the Nadi airport, the Monsavu Dam and other important infrastructure in Fiji following Rabuka’s coup of 1987.
Members of that resistance group have made their confession and affidavits prepared, where intricate but explosive details of Aiyaz Khaiyum’s bomb-making capabilities are revealed.
In the confession, these individuals have revealed for the first time how Aiyaz deserted them at the 11th hour of their terrorist attack, when members of the group were ambushed by military personnel and detained for weeks and some for months.
The Aiyaz Khaiyum led terrorist group were on the brink of carrying out Fiji wide bomb attacks when the military intervened.
They say that while they were rounded up by the military, they didn’t realise that Aiyaz was already at Nadi Airport waiting for his flight to flee Fiji.
He then lived in Sydney for a few years, working in a TV station before he left for Hong Kong where he undertook his Masters Degree.
They also revealed how unsympathetic Aiyaz was in using civilians to hide his bombs in their respective homes during their 1987 terrorist-like resistance plans.
Such a woman who helped Aiyaz Khaiyum is a distant relative of his and mother to a well known business consultant and ex-city counsellor.
Aiyaz Khaiyum’s first wife is a native from Pakistan and these individuals say Aiyaz is well connected to certain terrorist groups in Pakistan

IN FIJI according to the Fiji Govt the poverty rate is 49%. But according to the people that actually work there like Father Kevin Barr, it is close to 60%
60% of 800,000 is 480,000 people. That is a lot of people.
When the govt starts sacking more Civil Servants then more people will join this queue.

What they do not realize too is that the truth will finally emerge and prevail permanently in the end. Don't we see that the opposition is becoming stronger because the members are demanding truthfulness and transparency upon which a strong government should rely to maintain its strength?
Kahiyum, Shameem and Gates wanted to take their falsehoods to the UN but the UN saw right through them thus weakening them in front of all the populace of Fiji who are directly affected by their misgovernment.

GOVERNMENT ministers' salaries were paid through chartered accounting firm Aliz Pacific Limited from 2010, according to the Auditor-General's Report for that year
The report, which was tabled in Parliament during its first sitting, stated that Cabinet, in its memorandum of January 4, 2010, to the permanent secretary of finance, instructed the cessation of payment of minister's salaries from January 2010.
The report stated that the change was subject to Cabinet approval to alter the terms and conditions of engagement of all ministers.
According to ministerial comments to the report, the Finance Ministry facilitated the request from the Prime Minister's Office following the Cabinet approval.
It said initially the fund for each minister's salary was provided in their ministry budget.
It said the revised budget for 2010 redeployed the funds from the various ministries to the Ministry of Finance Head 50 to which it said all payments were made.
The 2010 report stated the PM's Office from January 15, 2010, submitted invoices to the Finance Ministry for payment of the minister's salaries through Aliz Pacific Limited.
A total of over $1.75 million was expensed for minister's pay in 2010 through budgetary allocation controlled by the Finance Ministry's miscellaneous expenditure Head 50 without any supporting document.
The dubious and devious salary payment of Frank Bainimarama and his ministers by a private company owned by Khaiyum's aunty is but a confirmation that Fiji was under thug rule. These scoundrels had their hands in the national kitty. They were accessing public money as if it was their private wealth.

Tongans had a day-off on Monday, November 3, as the Kingdom observed a national holiday celebrating its 139 year-old Constitution.
The Tongan Constitution was formulated in 1875 on November 4 by King Taufa’ahau Tupou I, establishing Tonga as a modern constitutional monarchy. The constitution continues its legal premise over the Kingdom to this day.
The Tongan constitution is the ninth oldest existing national constitution (written) in the world. It is the second oldest existing constitution in the Southern Hemisphere, behind the constitution of Argentina.
The United States Government released a statement giving its “warmest wishes to the people of Tonga”. However, the statement was mistakenly titled “Tonga Independence Day”.

WHEN the Public Accounts Committee sits for the first time after the September general election, it will leave no stones unturned as it scrutinises State accounts of 22 ministries.
The PAC, chaired by Opposition member Professor Biman Prasad, sits next Wednesday at 10am in the Committee Room (West Wing) of the Government Buildings in Suva.
He said the role of the committee would be to find out irregularities in the use of various State resources and point those behind the misuse since 2007 to 2013.
"I am pleased with the four other members of the committee. They are all highly qualified and credible members of Parliament who understand the work of the committee," Prof Prasad said.
He said the members understood the huge responsibilities that had been entrusted on them by members of the public.
"We don't see this as a partisan committee, it's a bipartisan committee and will be working for the people of Fiji, that's what they expect us to do."
According to parliamentary standing orders, the PAC or any other standing committee performs its functions subject to section 74 of the Constitution and any other written law governing Parliament.
A standing committee has the powers to summon any person to appear before it to give evidence or provide information, compel the production of documents or other materials or information as required for its proceedings and deliberations and determine if it will accept written or oral evidence.
A standing committee also has the powers to determine the extent, nature and form of its proceedings, conduct its proceedings or any aspect of its work at any venue it deems to be most suitable, including, where Parliament is not sitting, a venue beyond the precincts of Parliament.
The standing committee can also appoint subcommittees in accordance with standing order 122, consult and liaise with any government department falling within its category of affairs and it can also compel the attendance of a minister to testify or to produce documents.
The date of the first sitting of PAC was confirmed by the secretary general to Parliament Viniana Namosimalua.
The PAC last sat in March last year after which it was dissolved by Government as a prelude to the resumption of Parliament this year.

In 2013, imports of gas oil and aviation fuel alone amounted to more than FJD $899 million.
Pacific Scoop asked Bainimarama why the government wished to take control of the imports.
“Well, we thought we would make it cheaper for people in Fiji. We will follow a model where we put out an international tender and sell the fuel to oil companies. That way the fuel will be a lot cheaper than now,” he said, referring to Mauritius as the role model.
But that is unlikely to be the outcome, says Professor Justus Haucap, director of the Institute for Competition Economics at University of Duesseldorf, Germany.
“Fiji is way too small a country to impact on the fuel on fossil fuels on the worldwide market. I can’t see that the government would get cheaper or more reliable access than any private party would have,” he said.
“I am very, very sceptical that this could be beneficial for Fiji as a whole.”
Professor Haucap added that even Germany – with a population of almost 100 times that of Fiji’s 880,000 – would probably be too small to get any discounts if it implemented the same model.
Replying to the criticism, Bainimarama said: “That’s what your expert tells you.”
Pacific Scoop also asked Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, general secretary of Fiji First, to respond to the claim that Fiji would be too small to exert buyer power over the sellers of fossil fuels and getting a lower price.
“I think that’s a silly question. It’s not about buyer power, it’s about making it cheaper. Obviously it can be done, and God willing, Fiji First wins, we will follow that model. It is sound economic decision making.”
In its manifesto, Fiji First also states that the government will make revenue from the scheme and also lower the cost of doing business.
“It’s obvious that you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Either you lower the cost of doing business by subsidising fuel, but that means you have to take money out of the budget to finance this.
“Or you can say we want to generate money, but that means the money must come from somebody. Either from the people who buy the fuel or the products that are produced with the fuel, such as transport services, which then becomes more expensive,” said Professor Haucap.
Professor Haucap also warned that the move would not just be status quo but could have serious disadvantages.
First of all, IT WOULD GIVE THE GOVERNMENT MAJOR CONTROL OVER THE POPULATION WHO ARE DEPENDENT ON ENERGY.
Secondly, he said, governments in general are not as experienced in buying on the private markets and lack accountability.

With a sense of self-importance one Dr Sushil K Sharma tells us via a letter in that mediocre newspaper the Fiji Sun ( 9/11) that he has "derived a new term for people addicted to Kava or grog in Fiji". His new term is Kavaholic. Wow! In Fiji people addicted to grog have always been known as a groggyfala. And we always knew what that meant. Not need for Dr Sushil K Sharma's new superfluous term.
But term aside his claim that groggy people are "the low-life of our community" who have "destroyed the very fabric of our culture and family ... and Fijian society as a whole" is a fanciful and dishonest exaggeration.

Because of space restrictions, I will be brief. In my last post, I stated two things. One is that our world is changing rapidly and radically, the nature and direction of which will astound and perplex many. Two is that Khaiyum is primarily a faithful servant of Islam and he has been promoting the Islamic agenda for many years. Let me begin with Khaiyum and his subtle and surreptitious actions to promote Islam. Then we shall observe the alarming trend of global Islamic expansion and control through immigration.
Fiji’s AG, Khaiyum will never admit he is promoting the Islamic fundamentalist agenda and he will continue to do so by subjugating existing traditions, conventions, laws and protocols. National priorities and development goals will be harmonised with this agenda. He uses Islamic taqiyyah to lie and deceive in order to gain unfettered control. ( Look at his Ministries and know that he is a control freak). This is quite obvious from his words and actions since 1987. His Hong Kong thesis and post 2006 activities also confirm this.
Islamic taqiyya is basically the doctrine that it is necessary and right to lie and deceive in order to defend and promote Islam. Taqiyya is “concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies as a means to save oneself from physical or mental injury.” It may be employed for any purpose whereby “an end justifies the means”. Practically, taqiyya is any form of lying, deceit, misleading, half truths or related practices condoned by Islam to protect the individual from harm. It is one of the reasons why we are surprised by brazen acts of lawlessness, violence or terror by Muslims around the world. The Quran advocates such a doctrine. (Quran 3:28 )
Using this taqiyya, we can evaluate the events of the last seven years and zoom in on the role of Khaiyum and his Muslim family, friends and associates. In 1987, he was involved in the attempt to make bombs to destroy Nadi International Airport. He knew this would kill many innocent lives and destroy vital public infrastructure and our economy. It was precisely because of this high collateral and crippling damage that made them choose Nadi as their strategic target. Destroying Nadi airport would paralyse the airline industry, tourism and all other closely associated industries and economic sectors. But that was a necessary evil to achieve their goals.
His Hong Kong thesis articulates his philosophy and world view. It provides a window into his heart, mind and soul. He was determined to radically transform the status quo in Fiji through whatever means possible. As Kierkegaard once stated, the end justifies the means. No matter how much it costs and what others think, Khaiyum must reform Fijian society according to his agenda.
Since 2006, Khaiyum has been involved with Voreqe to justify the illegal military takeover through the doctrine of necessity. His family and friends have been the real power and brains behind the curtains. He has succeeded in abolishing the GCC, attacked the Christian Church, silenced the masses, cowed the press, removed our God given rights, compromised our security forces, corrupted the civil service, paralysed our judiciary, written new decrees to control the indigenous Fijians and their resources, identity and culture and rewrote a constitution to give them immunity for as long as they live. The cumulative impact of his decrees and actions threaten the very survival of the Fijian and Rotuman cultures and traditions ( Viti kei Rotuma), including our freedom to worship God the way we want to. No one else has even dared to attempt such a travesty of justice because of it is wrong, unjust and absolutely dangerous. But Khaiyum has done it and he knows it will come back to hurt him very badly. He has constructed a bomb more deadlier than the one they built for Nadi Airport. Only time will tell how his story will end as the clock ticks away.
But how can Khaiyum be working against the Fijian people when his wife is Fijian, he is dressed as a Fijian, and calls himself Fijian? How can Khaiyum be one of us and not be one with us? How can he be corrupt when he is fighting corruption? ( He set up FICAC to control his enemies ?). How can he be accused of breaking the law when he is the lawmaker? How can the election not be free when the voting age has been lowered, a new constitution has been “endorsed”, anybody can form any party, everybody has been encouraged to register and vote, and an “independent international Committee” has given international endorsement? How on earth can FFP be illegal when they have given people roads, classrooms, toilets, free bus fares, free education, free water, free electricity, etc? How can a student betray and publicly humiliate his professor which he had appointed to lead the drafting of Fiji’s constitution? These are examples of deception of the highest order.(Islamic taqiyya). The devil is alive and well in the highest offices of our land. Better believe it folks.
Since February 2010, Khaiyum’s aunt (Nur Bano) has been the pay-mistress for Fiji’s illegal junta leaders. Khaiyum has controlled several key portfolios directly and several more indirectly. The number and mix of his key ministerial portfolios, his family control over the ministers’ salaries and his far superior intellect to Voreqe made AS Khaiyum the most powerful man in Fiji since 2010. The transition to a Parliamentary democracy only serves to increase and legitimise his control over Government resources and institutions. I believe without a shadow of doubt that Khaiyum is the most powerful man in Fiji today. ( He managed to issue a decree on MP salaries after the election and made a Cabinet reshuffle even before the first Cabinet meeting.) But he will continue to pretend that Voreqe is the leader and Cabinet runs the show. All this is just part of the Islamic tagiyyah we have talked about above.
Islam worships Allah the moon god. In fact they worship Satan, but many of them do not realise that. Compared to the Hebrews and Christianity, Islam is the youngest monotheistic religion and a counterfeit of the two that preceded it. A study on the life and teachings of its false prophet Mohammed is sufficient to conclude that Islam is pure evil so well disguised under the cloak of a religion. Mohammed has established himself as a liar, storyteller, paedophile, adulterer, sex maniac, murderer and master of deceit. He was possessed by demons and his religion is controlled by Satan himself through the mullahs. Several thousands of former Muslims have confirmed this. Salman Rushdie’s “ Satanic Verses” is a classic example.
The secret agenda of Islam is to conquer and rule the whole world to worship Satan ( Allah). As much as possible, they will try and employ crafty and subtle means to gain advantage and control through peaceful means. Once they have the control, they will exercise their power to achieve their goals. This brings us to the demographic changes in various societies and continents today.
For a culture to maintain itself for more than 25 years, it must have a fertility rate of 2.11 children per family. With anything less, the culture will decline. With a fertility rate of 1.3 children per family, population growth will decline that it is impossible to reverse the trend. In other words, over time, that culture will cease to exist, because as the population shrinks so does the culture. There are also other factors acting to affect our cultures apart from population.
Muslims from various countries have been migrating to other countries over the last hundreds of years. Given the low fertility rates in many Euro nations, their demographics have been changing. While Muslim populations in these countries have increased, the host country populations in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, etc. have been shrinking because of their lower fertility rates. Historical records tell us that these numbers are impossible to reverse. (Do you wonder why many of our young men and women are recruited into the British Army?) So in a few years, Europe as we know it will cease to exist. Yet, the population of Europe is not declining. Why? Immigration.
Of all population growth in Europe in the last 25 years, 90% is due to Islamic immigration. In Southern France today, there are more mosques than churches. In France, 30% of all children aged 20 or younger are Muslims. In the cities of Nice, Marseilles and Paris, 45% are Muslims. In 33 years, France will be an Islamic republic. In the UK, over the last 36 years, the Muslim population has been growing from 82,000 to about 3 million today (35 times). There are over 1,000 mosques in Britain. Many churches have been converted to mosques. In the Netherlands, 50% of all new born babies are Muslims. In ten years time, half of the population will be Muslims. In Russia, there are over 23 million Muslims, and in a few short years, 40% of the entire Russian army will be Islamic.
According to the German Federal Statistics Office, by the year 2050, Germany will become a Muslim State. Muammar Gaddaffi once said, ‘There are signs that Allah will grant victory to Islam in Europe without swords, without guns, without conquest. We don’t need terrorists, we don’t need homemade bombs. The 50 plus million Muslims (in Europe) will turn it into a Muslim controlled continent in a few decades.” Gaddaffi is gone but his observation is visible on the horizon.
