Media sign-offs show Saneem lied about vote counting being stopped

Media reports prove the Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, is lying when he says electoral teams never stopped counting and have been counting 24 hours non-stop.

Reports from Fiji media teams covering the election show the counting was clearly brought to a halt early this morning, without warning or explanation.

A video report from the Republika team based at the media centre shows them detailing the last results at 6am, just after Saneem announced it, with team leader Ricardo Morris saying "We'll be back when the results continue to come in towards the later part of this afternoon."

Morris also says Saneem has now 'verified the pre-polling and the postal ballot', which would be added to the total votes cast.

Updates on social media early this morning also back up reports the election office had stopped releasing results.

C4.5 was as alarmed as others to read the counting had stopped and would resume today at 4pm. It's unheard of, especially if votes are being counted electronically.

Opposition political parties today rejected the results which show Fiji First in the lead, but Saneem claims the counting had never stopped saying it had continued even when he'd gone home and during the day.

If that's the case, why did Fiji media pack it in for the night?

The only reason they did that is because the Electoral Office had stopped releasing results, presumably because they had stopped counting.

Because if they were still counting as he says, why weren't they passing the results on?

It appears the counting came to a halt when Fiji First had a clear lead - 60.2% per cent of the votes - the last result given out this morning at 6am, the one recorded by a tired Republika team before they bid us goodnight.

The results the media teams last publicised were the same ones circulated today - until 1pm when both reporters and the Electoral Office posted the 'latest update'.

So, why where there no results between 6am and 1pm, if votes were still being counted? Can Saneem tell us that?

Can he also tell us why the monitoring teams were not told the counting had come to a halt - as they should've been.

And can he tell us the total number of votes cast, the number of valid votes and the number of invalid votes - as well as the total number of postal votes.

The opposition parties rightfully now question the results which put Fiji First at 60.10%, SODELPA just under 26.70%, NFP at 5.6%, PDP  3.5% and FLP at 2.4%

The parties say they have evidence of coordinated and systematic electoral fraud and want the counting of all pre-polling and postal ballots suspended.

They also want the verification of provisional results, saying ballot boxes have been tampered with, removed from polling stations without being counted and large sized files have been placed in ballot boxes by opening the seals.

Both the multinational observers and the regime insist there have been no breaches but as they say watch this space.

Editor's Note: Just one provisional result was released today, the one at 1pm. Verified results are reportedly due out tomorrow (Friday).

FFP's opposition party in parliament will definitely make it difficult for true 'losers' who have again usurped power through unscrupulous means!

It has been a very unfair and biased General Elections all the way! Shame on FFP!

However, it is not going to be an easy task for FFP at all particularly as they will, in just a few weeks away, be caught unprepared for what is in store for them. Being presently known and exposed to what they're best at, that is -LYING & CORRUPT PRACTICES - its obviously going to be a whole new ball game from now on.

Come to think of it SODELPA has been given the POWER AND AUTHORITY to UNVEIL and bring down the false glorification of FFP!! SODELPA shall IN TRUTH RULE OVER FFP!!

FFP will have no option but to humble themselves and learn from an 'iron fist' in SODELPA.

Oh yes, they are the 'winners' alright but they are put there in that position in order that ALL TRUTHS relating to illegal & corrupt practices that took place since the day they illegally usurped power will be made known to Fiji as a whole.

Victory for the Opposition Party SODELPA is already at hand. And there is much to celebrate if we can actually fathom this.

FIJI FIRST...YOU ARE ANSWERABLE TO GOD AND THE PEOPLE OF FIJI! REMEMBER THE LAWS OF DEMOCRACY! WE WILL BE WATCHING YOU!

So what is the reality of my situation? That I will continue to be governed by a tyrant, a short fuse military man trying his hand at politics? That I will continue to be censored in my opinion and not put my name to my voice of dissent? That the media will continue to give a skewed report in favour of the government? If this is the reality you allude to then please be rest assuared I have come to live with this reality in the past 8 years. The whole of Fiji has.

As for your second sentence, it doesn't make sense so please ask your English teacher to help you construct a grammatically correct sentence then get back to me.

If Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum are not arrested now, Fiji will be overwhelmed by Chinese and Indians from India. The Indians currently living in Fiji, will also have their land taken away and absolutely no access to the land and leases.
As I said in 2007 on Fiji Times Online, the coup was planned well in advance of 2006 and had one purpose.
To totally remove Indigenous Fijian Institutions in order to take Indigenous Land and Resources!
I also proposed that it was Asians who were behind this coup!
As you can all see now, these things have actually come to pass and I sit here wondering, when will indigenous Fijians finally wake up and open their eyes?

Yes that's right we need to take stock of what has happened 90% of Indian descendant have swayed their Votes to Fiji First Party, with 20% of Itaukei's also going to Fiji First, it is realistic, this guys need to come down to earth, assumption in the beginning by SODELPA was the biggest F#*$ Up.

The voters have seen on the ground how fast and the turn around time of the current government in terms of answering to the request of the people.

If you can't go against the current you need to re-adjust your sails guys.

the problem is the Fiji First is thriving on lies and everything they do is based on lies from the 2006 coup till now they have manipulated the whole government system through lies. In doing so the people of Fiji have accepted and believed that all those lies are truth so the legacy of Bai and Kai will be lies, cheating, and dishonesty for their own personal gain, Where did Merry Bainimarama got the money from with which she bought the governor of Reserve Banks residense in Tamavua ? a half million worth. Proceed of crime.

Bad Leadership

Bad leadership is characterized by attempting to control employees through orders, policies, rules, goals, targets, reports, visions, bureaucracy, and changes all designed to almost force employees to work and to create and deliver what management considers to be satisfactory products and services. In this mode, management on its own decides what to do, when to do it, and how to do it and listens only perfunctorily, if they listen at all, to what employees have to say.

What characterizes bad leadership?

Dishing out orders, policies, rules, goals, targets, reports, visions and changes to force employees to work the way management believes it should be done.
Failing to listen or only perfunctorily listening to complaints and suggestions.
Trying to motivate employees.
Exhibiting the “Do as I say, not as I do” mentality
Providing inadequate support
Withholding information
Treating employees as if they don’t want to do a better job, don’t care about their work, don’t want to accept responsibility, or don’t really want to work.
Treating them as if they are lucky to have a job
Being afraid to discipline and never disciplining anyone
Staying in your office or in meetings at your level or above
Us versus them mentality—“Why aren’t they performing better?”— “What’s wrong with that person? Why don’t they know their job? They should know their job.”

These actions or inactions are bad because they lead employees to believe that management disrespects them and does not care a whit for them. It also puts employees in the state of having to guess what management wants and management must be right about everything because no one else is allowed to make decisions. Bad leadership shuts off the natural creativity, innovation, and productivity of each employee and slowly but surely demotivates and demoralizes them. With the “I know better than you” and the “be quiet and listen to me” mentality often projected from management, the majority will act like robots waiting for instructions, even if that is not what management intended.

Most bad leadership is the result of a top-down, command and control style of management, where the employee is rarely if ever listened to. This style is prevalent in the workplace and ignores every employee's basic need to be heard and to be respected. It also results in a knowledge barrier and top management becoming ignorant of what is really going on in the workplace and the marketplace, which in turn makes their directives misguided at best and irrelevant at worst.

Racism is a fact of life as it has its roots in ones group culture and customs.

Kaidia will always be Kaidia as most of the culture and customs they practice today goes all the way back to India. If they want to be Fijians then drop all the practice that has link back to India and practice the ones that will make us the same, language, food, marriage, religion to name a few.

Similarly Kaiviti will cherish and rightfully protect the culture, customs and tradition that their forefathers founded this land with.

If a Kaiviti goes to India and tell the Indians that they are racist because they want to protect all that is dear to them, then my advise is for that Kaiviti to pack up and go back where he comes from.

Kaiviti will always be branded as racist because others don't want to accept or embrace the fact they are just protecting what belongs to them.

If I'm a Taukei, that means others are Vulagi, Vulagi can't behave and have claims like a Taukei

If a vulagi comes to your home and claim similar right to your possession and belongings then trouble will definitely the end result.

Wake Up My Beloved Country.

BAINIMARA & KHAIYUM are puppets of the American government.Election all been rigged by the American through the advice of the Qorvis consultants & same system used to springboard Obama into his presidential
seat.
America doesn't wana work with rebel's like Sodelpa because they wont listen to them. They prefer a yes man or dumb person who can be easily manupilated.Bainimarama fits thats catergory & Khaiyum, who is extremely intelligent,is an appointed employee, who is just there to keep him in check & remind him to follow all New world order guidelines & policy dished out by this secret society.

Why i say America is because, it controls the World bank policy.Even it has power to appoint the president for this Financial Institution which countries are indebted too.

So Fiji cant do much? cos all state land are held as a collateral security to the World Bank.

If you recall back in 2000, Fiji soldiers campaigned in Fijian villages against Chaudhry policy to return all schedule & schedule B back to the Fijian. That was totally out of their jurisdiction. Why the campaign?Well in World Bank policy once you tread on or change any policy regarding land held as security to World Bank. You are doomed to be removed or finished off.

World Bank uses their economic hitman, with assistance of the CIA to help the military of that Nation to remove the concerned elected government.Eg Chile, Venezuela & etc.(Check youtube or google ...Economic hitman..Mr Perkin's)

Same thing happened in 2006, fiji military campaigned against the qoliqoli Bill, by visiting fijian villages & informing them the lie about SDL's Bill.Even to the extent of using Batibasaga of Serua to do propaganda broadcast against SDL for almost one year in 2006.

Anyway,Qoliqoli bill, main purpose was to reverse land 6ft under sea bed revert back to indigineous Fijian. Why?well for the extraction of million barrels of oil that lies in the Bligh Waters & Bau Basin seabed to benefit the Fijian's including the Indian's.

The US names the World Bank president because it is the main financial contributor to the World Bank, just as Europeans name the head of the IMF and Japan names the head of ADB.

Fiji's lands are not held in collateral by the World Bank.

Qorvis doesn't represent American policy any more than Graham Davis represents Australian policy.

The Americans have had a fairly consistent policy towards Fiji that is right there on its embassy website. Read it if you dare, but make sure first that you're wearing your tinfoil hat lest they use subliminal messaging through their website to seize control of your mind and turn you into a trilateral globalist zombie and consumer of McDonald's hamburgers.

Just Situational Logic said...

The FFP sapotas are gloating over their "victory", convinced they have the support of Fiji's majority. "How does it feel to be a looser [sic]", these losers ask. Also, they ask, am I shocked by Bainimarama's "win"?

Well, why would I be? I've predicted all along that Bainimarama would steal this election. I even predicted the margins. I also predicted the gloating.

I also foretold that foreign capitals would line up to congratulate Bainimarama, despite the underlying illegality of his regime. They're interested first and foremost in protecting their interests, and only secondarily, at best, in protecting the interests of Fijians.

The regime had many opportunities for stealing this election. It controlled the media. It faced no parliamentarian or well-organised opposition. It chose the electronic voting terminal vendor. It had custody of the machines for a long time. It brought in Indian IT specialists. It put Aiyaz in chage of elections and made his inexperienced cousin election commissioner. It showed its intent to cheat by enacting various decrees to hobble the opposition, which it then selectively enforced so that only its opponents were handicapped.

It was relatively easy for the regime to steal the election. The real marvel is that it didn't hold a phony election like this sooner. Most dictatorships hold their phony elections much sooner. But then, this dictatorship was also late in staging its phony show-trials.

One way for the regime to cheat was by simply substituting the memory cards in the voting machines with cards programmed in its favour. The cards could be programmed, for example, to change every other vote for Ro Teimumu into a vote for Bainimarama. A simple algorithm would have sufficed. By stealing half of Ro Teimumu's votes, such cheating would make her victory impossible and his virtually assured. Every other vote for higher profile regime targets like Mick Beddoes or Nirmal Singh could be decremented from their column and added instead to the plus column for ASK.

The regime could use break periods in the vote counting to switch back the memory cards so that they pass inspection, in case the foreign observers go so far as to doublecheck them, which they likely wouldn't anyway.

(Continued)

Just Situational Logic said...

This is just one example of what the regime might have done. This isn't rocket science. The manipulation of electronic voting machines is well-documented, and I suspect Khaiyum and his Indian IT experts are very well-acquainted with the literature.

It will be difficult to prove. It nearly always is, which is part of the beauty for those who use it to steal elections. Everyone knows this regime to be deceitful, but for its election heist to win, all it needs is a modicum of semi-plausible deniability. So far, I think it's achieved that.

Let me be clear. I believe this regime used technical means to steal the election, but it has so far also done it in such a way as to get away with it. I believe it did not win the election in terms of votes cast, but it "won" it in terms of votes counted, as I predicted.

And, as I've also said all along, this election was illegal, because it wasn't conducted in accordance with the 1997 Constitution. Even if SODELPA had won, it would properly have been necessary for it to call for new elections to be held in one year's time, this time in accordance with the Constitution.

The opposition ignored my appeals to unite. United, it could have forced changes in the conduct of the election, which might have frustrated the regime's machinations and just possibly might have led to genuinely free elections. Disappointingly, the parties opted to pursue their own selfish and partisan aims instead.

Fiji is in many ways now worse off than before. Bainimarama now has an imperfect but much stronger claim to legitimacy than before. The opposition remains divided. Free and fair elections remain as much a pipe-dream now as ever. If demonstrations were difficult to arrange before the election, they are even harder now. The prospect of a Free Fiji is still remote.

Some choose to be optimists. They point to the election's creation of a small, new opposition that will be a presence in the Parliament, once it's allowed to reconvene, and say that this opposition will begin to hold Bainimarama accountable. I choose to be a realist. I don't expect much from the newly elected Parliament. Most of those elected are non-entities. With one or two exceptions, I believe they will be easily cowed by the dictator and his forces.

Also, I don't expect the Auditor General's reports to come out soon. I know Bainimarama promised them next week, but he's an inveterate liar. I hope to be proven wrong, but I expect to be proven right, because, sorry to say, so far my low expectations of this cynical regime have been borne out in every instance.

Hehe. I get a chuckle reading the remarks of Anonymous at 11:18 AM, who says that JSL's remarks show him to be "uneducated". Just compare the two individuals' remarks and then tell me which of them is the better educated!

I never see JSL justifying the events of 1987 or 2000, so why go there? And what about Bainimarama's leading role as the instigator of the coup attempt in 2000?

Also, how can it be claimed that JSL is traumatised when the main tenor of his remarks is that the elections went as he expected and even predicted?

Ganesh said...

JSL, I have shared similar views. What I would like to share now, though, are two observations. The first is that the kaidia vote remains important, especially to the extent that it is monolithic -- i.e., throwing its support behind a single party. Those who seek to motivate their base supporters through appeals to iTaukei chauvinism and the like run a grave risk of alienating the kaidia voting bloc.

The second observation is really an echo of what Wadan Narsey has already warned. The kaidia support for FIji First is a poisoned chalice. By supporting the dictator instead of the rule of law, I fear the kaidia community has set itself up for much future heartbreak. The rule of law is the best protection a minority has against oppression by the majority. The kaidia vote for Fiji First has effectively stripped the community of its most important protection.

Once elected government is officially sworn-in, it will (legally) no longer be a military dictatorship and illegal government. You will need to change your language to redirect your spin-doctor efforts to discredit a democratically elected government for the next 4 years.

Hopefully this time it serves to actually benefit your political party of choice rather than do more harm - you have 4 years to work on campaign policies & strategies, and you will need it!

Lets see the calibre of opposition in the parliament, and their quality of debate regarding real economic issues - that in itself should display/advertise their strengths & weaknesses, they will get 4 years of media, hope they go in more prepared than the pre-election debate with Frank.

You called for Fiji First supporters to attend Interfaith Worship today! There would notably have been 'christians' among Hindus, Muslims, Bahais, Bhuddists etc etc

Let me enlighten you... if you declare yourself to be a Christian and you have been brainwashed into believing that this practise of Interfaith religion is the way to go, REPENT OF THIS EVIL.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS INTERFAITH WORSHIP. THIS IS NONSENSE TO TRUE CHRISTIANS.

THE GOD OF THE PROPHET MOHAMMED IS NOT THE GOD OF THE CHRISTIAN BIBLE.

THE GOD OF THE CHRISTIAN BIBLE IS THE FATHER OF THE LORD, JESUS CHRIST.

THE BIBLE TELLS US THOSE WHO DENY THE SON OF GOD DOES NOT HAVE THE FATHER AND THEY ARE ANTI-CHRISTS (1 JOHN 2:22-24).

MUSLIMS DENY JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.

TO ASSIST YOU, PLEASE REFER TO:
John 5:25, 10:36, 11:14, 17:1, 1:49-50. Mark 14:61-62. Luke 3:21-22. and other passages that refer to Jesus being the Son of God.

THEREFORE, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE, IT IS THEOLOGICAL HERESY TO SAY WE CAN ALL WORSHIP TOGETHER WITH NON-CHRISTIANS. PARTICULARLY THOSE WHO DENY JESUS CHRIST AS THE SON OF GOD, WHO IS LORD AND SAVIOUR OF ALL MANKIND!

YOU OFFEND THE GOD OF THE CHRISTIAN BIBLE BY SAYING TO A NON-CHRISTIAN I.E. A MUSLIM, A HINDU, A BUDDHIST ETC THAT

"You have God without Jesus and I have God with Jesus" ..COME LET US WORSHIP TOGETHER". THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE!

THAT IS BLASPHEMY!

BEWARE!! It is very clear from Scripture that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and denying this will lead you straight to the lake of fire!

The real problem is that Fiji had no choice, there was no evident viable opponent, it’s as simple as that.

Frank won due to the media, not the papers or TV but the behind the scenes media, the bloggs.

Opposition parties such as FLP and SODELPA were greatly disadvantaged by the very people purporting to be so anti FB. The behaviour of these few people who used the blogs to promote hate, racism, religion, extremist views and lies was assumed by many to be indicative of the general behaviour of the opponents political parties.

This was the reason for SODELPAs hammering and when it’s candidates and representatives in public view used similar tactics echoing the bloggs to a lesser degree but also took no effort to disassociate themselves from the blogs their fate was sealed.

Frank has won and the losers are the blog warriors who’s endless efforts backfired on them and greatly assisted his victory.

The game is over for the GCC and SODELPA. The people of Fiji have woken up (more so the Itaukies). They have now realised the damage self serving GCC and extrimists in SODELPA have done to Fiji over the past 40 or so years since independence.
The GCC were sucking the blood of their own people by taking away all the lease money and enjoying themselves. The grassroot itaukies were silently suffering.
There was no money or jobs for them to improve their lives and thus the genration after generation of itaukies suffered.

The extrimists in itaukie society and the GCC cleaverely put all the blame On indians and the masses got engulfed in that hatered for indians while the elite in the itaukie enjoyed life.

This election has changed every thing. Now and in future every body will have to work hard to enjoy the goodies of life.

Every Fijian will have to contribute to make Fiji a country the way the world should be.
I am sure the Bainimarama govt will provide the platform and it will be for the people to take advantage of the oppotunities.
The itaukies should move away from communal life in koros and try to live individual life with ther wife/husbands and children. It will be hard and demanding to start off but you can make your life and your childrens life better with commitment over future years.

I am not saying to break your contact with your tauvoos but minimise it and have faith in yourself and one day you will successed. it may take a generation but your next generation will be proud of you.

Everyone in Fiji should learn to live on their own and have faith in themsels. Hatered for each other will bring nothing but desater.

There will be always other races to blame. Actually Indians has lost in representation, race wise but they chose leadership. For Sodelpa, biggest mistake to shake hands with Labour. What happened in 2006, a lot of Fijians wont forgive.

Firstly I am not a Fiji First supporter - I voted for NFP and am very disappointed that they have won so convincingly.

HOWEVER... and just to get this off my chest I am deeply ashamed at the behaviour of the behaviour of the 5 other "major" parties (If you can call 2-3% major!) using the media to socialise serious allegations of corruption and electoral fraud based on flimsy evidence.

And then to see Mick Beddoes and Lynda Tabuya (and no doubt Chaudary rubbing his hands together in the background) - none of whom were even close to being elected - standing in front of the media holding up a picture as evidence and incriminating some poor man probably working for minimum wage - and using this as grounds for holding the elections to ransom and demanding a recount. If you've got concerns and have evidence fine - use the processes available to you to raise your concerns - tell the MOG, tell the ECC, tell the SoE but to brief the media, and create a storm in a teacup rather than following due process, has done nothing more than undermine the confidence of a nation in the immediate euphoria of MY country returning to democracy for the first time. I can just see the international community reading the headlines created by these conspiracy theorists and shaking their heads and making disparaging comments about our country being a Banana republic.

Their actions show the selfish motivations of these people so clearly. Their interests are self serving, they are sore losers and need to show some self respect and dignity and lose graciiously. I voted for NFP so was pleased to see that Tupou and Biman distanced themselves from Sodelpa and PDP as it became clear that their evidence was so pathetica. To be honest I felt embarrassed for them but more than that I felt sorry for the nation that I love. I was surprised to see Lynda Tabuya associate herself so strongly with this - I was impressed with her campaign but unfortunately it's going to be remembered for the wrong reasons, same old same old from Big Mick, and as for Chaudary less said the better.

Onward and upward Fiji. A strong democracy relies on a classy opposition and I have hope that my vote will contribute to this through NFP's presence in parliament

Thanks for listening, just needed to vent,

All the best to the new government - we don't have to agree with the way the people vote - but we must always respect and fight for their right to choose who leads them.

I find it hard except this elections result regarding the irregularities in the counting of votes. To me the regime are just continuing to be in power and the election is just a means of escape and excess to the outside world. Am i wrong....

Lets look at the bright side.. FF is in government and SODELPA is in opposition.. Let's give Bainimarama a go at leading the country under democratic rule..Mara, Rabuka, Chaudary, and Qarase have had their chance..even Ro Teimumu who was Qarase's deputy. It's time to look forward, let's forget the past and look forward to the future..I would not be surprised if Bainimarama gets elected again if the opposition keeps playing the race card. Fijians have woken up from their slumber. As for the GCC - don't bring back something that is a burden to tax payers. One government is enough to deal with all our problems.

Dea R said...

Wrong indeed. Election was democratic, legal, legitimate, and constitutional (as upheld by the RECOGNISED institutions). If outcome is not a desired one, it has to be fought on the the democratic voting platform. Opinions on outcome don't matter, legally speaking of course, results matter.

We are given 4 years to change voters minds, putting spin after spin and discrediting without credible evidence has back-fired and worked against parties, (the numbers speak for themselves). Big mistake to believe grassroot everyday regular people are gullible and non the wiser, parties undermining voters have paid for this mistake, and paid heavily for their mistakes.

Wise up, change tactics, new strategies, back to drawing board, can't repeat same actions expecting different results. Heed now, or fall again in the next elections. The gap will widen by far in the next 4 yrs if we just keep spinning and FFP keeps delivering results.

Think, Plan, Act, Deliver Results. Loose the spin and discrediting without credible evidence, it has done more damage than good.

Wake Up My Beloved Country.

BAINIMARA & KHAIYUM are puppets of the American government. Election’s have all been rigged by the American through the advice of the Qorvis consultants & the same rigging system was used to springboard Obama into his presidential seat.
America doesn't wana work with rebel's like Sodelpa because they wont listen to them. They rather work with a yes man or dumb person who can be easily manupilated.Bainimarama fit’s that catergory, plus his a military man & Khaiyum, who is extremely intelligent,is an appointed employee, who is just there to keep him in check & remind him to follow all New world order guidelines & policy dished out by this secret society.

Why i say America is because, it controls & dictates the World bank policy.Even it has power to appoint the president for this Financial Institution which most countries are indebted too.

So Fiji cant do much. Why? cos all state land are held as a collateral security to the World Bank.

If you recall back in 2000, Fiji soldiers campaigned in Fijian villages against Chaudhry policy to return all schedule A & schedule B back to the Fijian. That was totally out of their jurisdiction. Why the campaign?Well in World Bank policy once you tread on or change any policy regarding land held as security to World Bank. You are doomed to be removed or finished off.

World Bank uses their economic hitman, with assistance of the CIA to help the military of that particular Nation to remove the concerned elected government.Eg Chile, Guatemala & etc.(Check youtube or google ...Economic hitman..Mr Perkin's)

Same thing happened in 2006, Fiji military campaigned against the Qoliqoli Bill, by visiting fijian villages & informing them the fabricated lie's about SDL's qoliqoli Bill.Even to the extent of using Batibasaga of Serua to do propaganda broadcast against SDL for almost one year in 2006 before the coup & removal of SDL.

For public info.I was anti SDL at that time because i didn't believe in their manifesto because it was racist towards the Indians plus the involvement of some corrupt people in their party, eg individuals like Qarase holding bigger shares as compared to provincial shares in Fijian holding investment.Even until now i dont support Sodelpa. But i want to inform the public about the truth that transpired since 2000 until now.
Fiji's oil is like a dungeon reservoir to the American.Including its geo-political position in relation to east & west is of great interest to them.Plus growing interest again from China & Russia, including checkbook diplomacy in the pacific region,America would rather stick with their puppets( Bainimara & Khaiyum) in control.

Those who believe the Media and the TV are brain dead.

In America, there are 9,000 radio stations, 1,500 TV stations, 1,500 newspapers, 1,100 magazines and 2,400 publishers owned by only 6 Globalist/Zionist controlled corporations.

The Jewish American elites who own the TV and the Press keep on lying. See :

From todays FT...........

"During their efforts to increase water pressure that has restricted implementing the alternative program of providing tap water one day and carting water the next, engineers have discovered the diminishing intake levels at WAF water sources are worse than they thought," the statement also read.

'Worse than they thought', does this suggest that they had not actually bothered to check and record the situation?

@Anon 6:59...some people may not accept defeat,it's a part of Fiji, just like the Fiji Sevens Team, when you loose to New Zealand.I see,you do not understand the game but soccer. What you should understant we are the opposition we are already working, and we can not wait to see Bainimarama trip up on his own Law.The last 8years was easy, that you make and break Laws as you go along, but this time there is a refree that puts you in check all the time. When you fall into the constitution and Law you make yourself ,that is life in prison and we are looking foward to the game, bring it on.

It's all over for Fiji now because the Indians are controlling the outcome of the Election. 90 % of Indian descent voted for FFP and about 30 % Itaukei.
The one man one vote system is not favouring the Itaukei people and we should go back to the old system of Constituencies.
With the one man one vote, Bainimarama and FFP will take 50-60% of the votes every four years. Kaiyum is very smart aye?? Vakaloloma na Kaiviti...

Anonymous said...

God allows the outcome of the Election, so that Bainimarama can meet and answer all His corruption, freebies promises (free education and bus fares) loans and debts, rising unemployment, water shortage, high food cost and many more.
Now it's game time, for the last eight years it's been warm up only. Check all his corruptions and bring to the court of law... Yes a taste of his own medicine.

Seems they're still counting but FijiLive news projecting 32 seats to the incumbents and 15 to Sodelpa.

Every dog does have its day: glad to see NFP (where my vote went) in Parliament with 3 seats, and Labour well, zilch this time round.

I can understand that a coalition was probably not viable between Sodelpa and NFP before the election given their conflicting agendas but they're now both in the opposition and not by choice.

Anonymous said...

Mr. PM, sir, now that you've been elected, can I please get my gumboots?

oohlala said...

Hmmm....seems they only started counting the postal ballots last nite. And only a mere 8000? Wow, that's quite telling if representative of the number of Fijians outside Fiji.

I'll be interested to know how many postal ballot papers were rejected and on what grounds. The SOE has an unfettered discretion it seems on postal ballots received.

-----------------------
Final Count
Shalveen Chand Fiji Times
Sunday, September 21, 2014

ONLY postal ballots remained to be counted last night said the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem.

He said 8000 postal ballots had been received which are the only ballot that are left to be counted.

He added that other ballots have been counted and what was happening was that the Fijian Elections Office staff were entering the data and only after data was entered, official results would be announced.

As at 9pm last night, 1553 of the 2025 polling station had been processed by the FEO.

In the West, 146393 of the 223867 registered voters had been processed. In the Central Division, of the registered 252901 registered voters 144750 had cast votes.

In the North 55901 votes of the registered 89212 had been processed while 18775 of the registered 25121 voters ballots had been processed.

These figures were announced at 9pm yesterday.

Mr Saneem indicated that the Fiji Elections Office is hoping to have all counting and data processed by today, however he stressed that it was a stringent process and the FEO needed to ensure that all data was accurate.

The FEO said invalid votes were at a minimum and they will tabulate this and announce how many total votes were invalid.

And finally, there's nothing wrong with having an inter-faith thanksgiving service as happened. And nothing stopping people from heading off to their respective holy places of worship following that service to follow their own rituals of worship.
