| Fiji peacekeepers appear unharmed but it's not known where they are. |
Inside sources have verified the picture reported to be that of the captured Fiji soldiers and reportedly tweeted this morning by the rebels who are holding them, is genuine.
Al Nusra, which is linked to Al Qaeda, today also tweeted the ID cards of the 45 Fiji peacekeepers.
The new information comes as the U.N.confirms it doesn't know where the captured Fiji peacekeepers are.
Thirty two Filipino soldiers have, however, been rescued. Other personnel remain trapped.
Media reports, including one from Al Jazeera's Jacky Rowland, say there have been no news on the fate of the Fiji contingent.
"Up until now the UN have been relying on negotiations to tray and get the Fijians out, but as it seems, the troops from the Phillipines were released as a result of military action."
Frank Bainimarama continues to be silent on the capture but the Ministry of Information today posted a video of RFMF commander, Mosese Tikoitoga, admitting they have no idea where the men but believe they are unharmed.
Intel sources say the RFMF won't admit it but the big fear is Al Nusra will use the Fiji troops as human shields.

Land laws under the 1997 constitution need 2/3 majority in parliament, and 9 out of the 14 in the Senate for any amendments.
Under the illegal 2013 constitution, they just need 26 parliamentarians to amend or even throw out any land law.
Any class 6 student can understand as to which document provides security.

Here's the scary part: Al-Nusra could have moved the men several times now. They will never spend 2 nights in one location. And if it's in their interest, they can barter of the soldiers for weapons or territory with other rebel factions. Not unheard of. This is believed to have happened to Foley, the US journalist beheaded by IS. The best we can hope for is that our guys don't end up with IS. If they do, their future looks bleak.

As a former warrior peacekeeper we always knew that you never surrender your weapons or your post. You report the situation ask for re-enforcements and hold your ground. That is what we were told during training for peacekeeping in Lebanon and that is the mentality we applied in all those years of peacekeeping in Lebanon. Tikoitoga is grossly wrong in his comments of supporting the post commander's decision to surrender. No wonder we have 45 soldiers held hostage what a joke.
To everyone still not decided which party to vote for.... do not vote for Fiji First. This Government could not protect its citizens for the last 8 years ..it also cant protect its own soldiers in UN peacekeeping due to decisions and political diplomacy undertaken to not align Fiji with its traditional friends. What were they doing there in the first place if they were inadequately armed. What sort of military unit that call them selves professionals goes into a war zone ill equipped? Were they there for a picnic or maybe just to pass time who knows. One things for sure they were not going to win any battles. All excuses aside , this goes to show that the fmf and its top brass hierarchy are in shambles and should hand in their resignations for a job "well done" in preparing there men for the task at hand. Embarrassing really.
C'mon lets be more objective in our comments. Plan A is dialogue which is negotiate with the rebels. What then is Plan B if that does not work. My view is Plan B must be a rescue operation by volunteer officers of the Fijian Unit in the Golan or better still an elite group from current units in the RFMF. Do we need a Plan C? Can we have a Plan C? Of course we can. We know our Fijian peacekeepers have guts, just ask any Lebanon veteran. We just don't know the story behind this episode and we will only find out after they have been released. Plan C will be the most dangerous and that the soldiers must be contacted to fight the rebels from within and escape they will be become heroes if they do that. Of course its a risk but they are soldiers and the stakes are high for crying out loud there are 45 of them. They know the drill hatch a plan and bash the shit out of these rebels...the plus factor is the rebels are not trained soldiers we know this from Lebanon most militants are cowards when you fight back they scoot for their lives..The question is how do we inform our soldiers to fight back and escape and turn the tables on the rebels... use the fucking intel that is available on the ground in the Golan and through friendly forces intel assets. Now wouldn't I be the best person to lead this operation..comments and feedback to this blog if u agree.
