The National Federation Party had objected to Khaiyum and Vuniwaqa: one is Fiji First's general secretary as well as Minister Responsible for Elections and the country's illegal attorney general, the other former Acting Permanent Secretary for Justice.
Under the regime's own Constitution, neither are eligible to seek election for four years because of their involvement in organising next month's election.
And yet Saneem, kin of Khaiyum, today proceeded with the draw claiming the Commission had failed to deliberate in the required three days and saying he had sought the advice of the solicitor general's office.
The Commission has disputed the ruling, boycotted the draw and is seeking legal advice from New Zealand.
Saneem's decision to say the Commission should've done their deliberating by 4pm not only breaches the Constitution but is ludicrous - 5pm is end of business and as NFP says, midnight, is the end of day.
In typical modus operandi, while Khaiyum and his officials were changing the rules again, Bainimarama was using taxpayer money to woo supporters in Sydney.
But there, too, Fiji First was exposed for its lack of transparency. A number of citizens, including critics, wanted to talk to him but the dictator didn't have the guts to front. He met only those 'invited' to talanoa.
Not surpisingly, social media was this afternoon littered with posts about Bainimarama being a coward.
Sadly, the same could be said about the Fiji police.
Another suspect died in custody this week leaving yet another family wanting answers.
Thirty year old Vilikesa Soko, a father of three, was taken in last weekend accused of robbery and was pronounced dead on Wednesday night while in Lautoka Hospital's intensive care.

Niko Nawaikula had said that the United Nations had declared that Khaiyum's and Bainimarama's decrees were "acts of discrimination". which is another species of racism. And even race bating which is advocated by those in the multi-media interviewing the SODELPA election candidates is also a form of racism.
SODELPA is the best party to vote for at this time because they have provisions to relook at some of their manifestos and and amend them if need be. At least they are giving us a leeway into changing some of their seemingly biased views.

Macuata high chief, Turaga na Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, yesterday strongly denied the claim that he was no longer with the FijiFirst party.
The claim was posted on the anti-government anonymous Fijileaks and Coup 4.5 blogsites.
When interviewed by the Fiji Sun yesterday the Tui Macuata said: “It is a lie.”
He said the two blogsites were very unrealiable.
“People should not believe such blogsites because they don’t have the guts to show their sources of information or evidence.”
“People don’t have hard evidence to back their blogs,” he said.
The Tui Macuata said it was a shameful act and those involved must stop it.
He said if he was not supporting the FijiFirst, he would inform the party and the secretary would make a release.
“If I stopped supporting FijiFirst our general secretary will release a press release.”
He said the FijiFirst campaign would start again in the North tomorrow with his full support.
“We will have a group from Suva coming for the campaign,” he said.
Ratu Wiliame had followed his late brother, Ratu Aisea’s footstep in supporting the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama-led Government.
He also conmfirmed he never met with the Tui Cakau and SODELPA candidate, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu as claimed by the two blogsites.
In an earlier interview, Ratu Wiliame said he was not standing for election but his support for the Government remained intact.
He said in the past chiefs had been used by politicians and political parties for their own benefit.
“Many chiefs had benefitted from corrupt deals initiated by past governments.”
This, he said, was one of the reasons the Bainimarama-led government removed the Great Council of Chiefs.
This decision, he said, was opposed by past politicians who had politicised the chiefly institution. He supported the dissolution of the GCC.

Four police officers suspended regarding death of Soko
Tuesday, 26/08/2014
Four police officers have been suspended with immediate effect pending further investigations into the death of Vilikesa Soko while in police custody.
Soko was allegedly involved in the robbery at the City Forex Foreign Exchange in Nadi more than a week ago.
In a statement released this afternoon, Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald said he will not release the identities of these officers because the criminal investigation is ongoing and all evidence is sub judice, meaning it cannot be discussed publicly.
He said those involved will be subject to full force of the law and once investigations are complete they will pass their findings to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Good on the Compol. He is sticking to his word. Unfortunately what IS Pryde going to do with it. If they prosecute Gates will have already written the judgment for whichever judicial officer hears the case.
You boys at correctives better watch out. Investigations are up and running. Bail will sell you out if there is a vote in it.

I support SODELPA this election, not without reservation, but because it is best positioned to achieve the main imperative, which is taking down Bainimarama. This will not be via the elections, because they're already been fixed by the regime, but in the street struggle that will follow. I, too, would like to see a stronger editorial hand in removing the filth published here. I suspect that much, if not most, of it is coming from Clarendon House, but whatever the source, we don't need it. Perhaps the previous blogger is right that all comments should be vetted by the Editor first. I wouldn't mind it if half of the comments get culled. They deserve to be.

This is what happens to an army when you have leaders like Frank and Aziz running the organization for the last 14 years. They both do not have real operational leadership capabilities and have not served in an active warzone area like Lebanon. If the leaders don't know then how can our soldiers know. There is a huge disconnect from an operational standpoint. Our soldiers in UNDOF do not have the warrior mind-set that past Fiji peacekeepers have had and that is Fiji soldiers do not back down, we have proven this time and again in Lebanon for the last 20 + years against the PLO and its affiliates and Hezbollah etcetera. 25 + Fiji soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice God Bless them. My take is the damage to Fiji's reputation both diplomatically and peacekeeping will be exponential. No longer will Fiji soldiers be seen as invincible hard tough peacekeepers. Someone must be held accountable for this and it should start from the stop with an inquiry followed by resignations or sacking. I say Frank, Aziz and Tikoitoga be held responsible and must resign. This is a national disaster of geopolitical scale in case we haven't already realized it yet.
