Amani Boseniwai was charged with another officer in June for supplying marijuana on two occasions to a Nelson Regan in Samabula.
He and the other officer, Inia Mekemeke, were remanded to Totogo Police Station in Suva after his lawyer persuaded the judge Korovou prison, where Iowane Benedito escaped from,
was too congested and the pair would be unsafe since they were
responsible for the conviction of a number of prisoners at the facility.There was no further coverage on the case by Fiji media, so it's unclear what happened to Boseniwai and Mekemeke after that court appearance last year in June but Boseniwai is clearly still in the force.
And as it happened last year when the scum behaviour of police in the recapture of the Naboro escapees was revealed, Fiji's coup leader has condoned the violence and pulled the strings of the media away from calls for an inquiry.

A TEENAGED girl is in a serious condition at the Lautoka Hospital after being struck on the head with a chopper.
The 15-year-old girl and her 35-year-old mother were attacked inside their home at Vuniyasi in Nadi by a man about 8:30pm on Saturday.
The mother, who was also struck on the head with a chopper, is recovering at the Nadi Hospital.
Police spokesman, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the mother and daughter were in the sitting room when the suspect entered their home through the kitchen window.
"The 30-year-old suspect removed four louvre blades from the kitchen window and entered the house," he said.
"When the girl heard some noise, she went to the kitchen to check and confronted the suspect, who picked up a chopper and struck her on the head.
"After hearing the commotion, the girl's mother went to the kitchen to check and she was also struck on the head by the suspect."
Insp Sokomuri said the suspect fled from the home after attacking the mother and daughter.
He said the suspect was later arrested by police and he was in custody at the Nadi Police Station yesterday.

A FORMER police officer is worried about the safety of his family because of mistaken identity.
Amani Bosenawai said he was wrongly identified in the social media as being in the group that brutally assaulted two men shown on video footage posted on the internet.
Mr Bosenawai was terminated from the Fiji Police Force on June 8 last year over allegations of stealing marijuana from the Nabua Police Station.
While his case is pending in court, his name and batch number have been posted on the internet and he is being identified as one of the assailants.
"I was in the police Strike Back team when I was in the force and I have nothing to do with the assault of the two men shown on the video footage," he said.
"The name and batch number shown on internet posts are mine but the photograph is of someone else.
"But I am getting calls from my relatives living overseas and other people asking me about my role in the assault when in fact I wasn't in the police force at that time."
Mr Bosenawai, who is a farmer in Naluwai, Naitasiri now, said he was not worried about himself but about the safety of his family.
He has two children, one of whom attends high school while the other is in primary school.
"This thing is also affecting my children and I'm asking those posting such things to get their facts right and wait for the police investigations in the matter to finish," he said.
Police spokesman, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri preferred not to comment on the matter when contacted last night.
